Covid-19 protocol will be enforced strictly in the tourist spots. While hill, adventure, backwater and ayurveda tourist centres will be reopened for domestic tourists, the beach destinations will remain closed. They will be opened only on November 1 as it is difficult to enforce restrictions at beaches. “The state has decided to reopen its tourist destinations in a phased manner in the wake of the crisis being faced by various stakeholders dependent on tourism,” said Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran. “The Unlock 4.0 guidelines of the Centre has allowed the reopening of the tourism sector by adhering to safety precautions. Taking note of this, the state has decided to reopen the tourism sector and this would be a big relief for the ailing sector,” he said. Kerala has already relaxed the restrictions on people coming from other states, saying that they need not undergo quarantine for seven-day trips. Similarly, domestic tourists need not undergo quarantine for trips up to seven days. Those who wish to spend more than seven days need to carry a Covid-negative certificate or undergo a Covid test in Kerala at their own expense. Otherwise, they will have to undergo a seven-day quarantine in the state. It filed its FIR against main accused Sandeep of Boolgarhi village based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s brother at Chandpa police station in Hathras on September 14. He had alleged that the accused tried to kill her by strangulation in a millet field. The case was earlier being probed by a three-member Special Investigation Team set up by the UP government on September 30. The CBI named Seema Pahuja, deputy superintendent of police, ACB (Ghaziabad), as the Investigating Officer for the probe. The team is likely to reach Hathras soon and take over the the case from the district police and the SIT.
