The move aims to promote inclusivity and quell allegations of language imposition. Shah made this statement in the Rajya Sabha during a discussion on the Ministry of Home Affairs’ functioning. He informed the House that a new department for Indian languages has been established under the Raajbhasha Vibhaag (Department of Official Language) in the home ministry . “I want to say this so that those who want to divide the country in the name of language do not get an agenda. The Modi government has established a department for Indian languages, which is working on promoting all Indian languages. Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi... every language has been included. There will be apps for translation too,” he said. After Gupta’s letter to Chief Secretary Dharmendra highlighting non-cooperation by officials, Additional Chief Secretary (GAD) Naveen Kumar Choudhary issued a circular to Goa in the next two years. Mehraj Malik was named the new chief of the party’s J&K unit. The party also appointed co-in-charges for state units, including Jain for Punjab, Pathak for Gujarat, and Ankush Narang, Abhash Chandela, and Deepak Singhla for Goa. The government has issued comprehensive instructions with regard to engagement and protocols to be observed while dealing with the MLAs or the MPs.” The circular said, “I am directed to convey that instructions be strictly adhered to in letter and spirit. There should be no occasion that the MLAs or MPs are constrained to make such complaints. Non-compliance of these instructions will invite commensurate disciplinary action and will be an im- portant input in evaluation of the concerned officer.” The Speaker had sought immediate attention from the CS. “This is with reference to the procedure and protocol norms to be adhered by government officials while dealing with members of the Delhi Legislative Assembly A few instances . have been brought to my notice where the communications of the members in the form of letters, phone calls or messages have not even been acknowledged by the concerned officer,” the speaker wrote.
